Founded in 2019 by Aditi Murarka and Anurag Agarwal, Nestasia is a home decor brand that offers a wide range of products including decor items, bath essentials, crockery, garden accessories, and kitchen utilities. The startup has successfully raised $4 million from investors such as Stellaris Venture Partners, Varun Alagh of Mamaearth, Sahil Barua of Delhivery, and Anuj Srivastava and Ramakant Sharma of Livspace.
In the competitive home decor segment, Nestasia stands alongside brands like Trampoline, The Purple Turtles, Chumbak, Vaaree, Pepperfry, Furlenco, and Urban Ladder. The home decor industry in India is experiencing significant transformation fueled by the growing D2C (direct-to-consumer) wave. A decade ago, home furnishing largely involved buying local products or visiting premium offline stores.
The online shopping boom introduced brands like Pepperfry and Urban Ladder, offering customers the convenience of doorstep delivery. However, to further their growth, these brands also invested heavily in offline stores. From 2018-2019, new D2C brands such as Trampoline, Chumbak, and The Decor Kart emerged, catering to evolving consumer demands with diverse home decor solutions, including eco-friendly products, garden decor, bath essentials, and kitchen utilities.
Nestasia joined this league with a mission to bridge the gap between low-quality local stores and high-end boutiques, offering a fresh perspective on home decor. Unlike other marketplaces, the Kolkata-based startup operates a comprehensive D2C business model, sourcing products from Indian artisans and selling them directly to customers. Nestasia primarily sells on Amazon and Myntra and is also available on TataCliq, Pepperfry, and Nykaa.
Starting with 100-200 products, Nestasia now offers around 4,500 items across six categories, fulfilling over 300,000 orders. According to Tofler, the company’s operating revenue increased by 63.8% from INR 21.90 crore in FY22 to INR 35.88 crore in FY23.
In addition to its strong online presence, Nestasia has raised $4 million from Stellaris Venture Partners, Varun Alagh of Mamaearth, Sahil Barua of Delhivery, and Anuj Srivastava and Ramakant Sharma of Livspace.
