A residential project for Ahmedabad redefines industrial design embracing the magnificence of bare essentials. Artfully designed by UrbanNest Design Studio, this apartment blends modern aesthetics to raw natural elements offering a warm and inviting sanctuary for a family of four.
The beauty, however, begins with the careful use of natural materials. Whereas some houses just rely on standard finishes, walls go raw with brick, concrete textures, and numerous woods, including oak, walnut, and teak. In this space, authenticity and coziness are reflected harmoniously within the members’ personalities.
The apartment was delivered as a bare shell, so it was a clean canvas for UrbanNest. “Every element within the home is a reflection of the family’s persona,” the design team explains. From sustainable materials to natural color palettes and textures, every detail holds its own significance in making the house warm and comfortable.
It’s the living and dining areas that keep the heart of the apartment: With texture and material mixed throughout, views are created visually without overwhelming the space. A Pichwai-painted play area functions to divide the areas, matched by a semi-circular console table bespoke to the space. Flanked at either side is an arch that has a concrete texture finish to a live-edge teak-wood dining table accompanied by a smooth wooden bench. The exposed brick cladding is a great texture characteristic of that room; it goes perfectly well with Fleck India timeless furniture pieces.
That maintains the raw, natural vibe-through jute-infused wardrobes, an exposed brick wall, and cozy seating that pushes out onto the balcony. Upstairs, teal accents and arched plays keep the industrial style in check, adding to a dynamic room for children.
The guest bedroom and temple space also attest that the design studio is committed to balance, as in the uses of traditional Indian motifs and chevron patterns. Sustainability and durability well, this apartment transforms into a living narrative embodying elegance together with functionality.
